The DC Extended Universe, or DCEU, is finally coming to an end. According to newly appointed DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, after the events of this summer’s blockbuster release, the lightDCEU will undergo a soft reboot and become the DC Universe, or DCU. For many, this marks a bright and hopeful new beginning for DC films, TV, and media. For others, this is the painful and unfair end of senders.
No matter the degree of personal harmony or disagreement you’ve felt with past DC projects, everyone should agree on one thing: proper character selection is integral to creating an engaging and enjoyable DCU story. The DC legend has been filled with decades of unforgettable characters, and its villains are no exception. As more details regarding the future of the DCU have been revealed, speculation and intrigue surrounding potential villain choices has increased. The following list contains 10 classic DC Comics villains that should be included in the DCU. Since the DCU will incorporate movies, television, video games, and more, the items on this list will not exclusively refer to being included in the movie.
10 Hacker psychology
Psycho-Pirate is the embodiment of the “James Gunn villain” and practically demands that Gunn write him into the DCU. As Roger Hayden, he wears a questionably comic costume, is portrayed as a second-rate villain, and sports a Medusa Mask (a magical-looking mask, which allows Hayden to project emotions onto others). If the description alone wasn’t enough to justify the inclusion of the pirate, the possible return of Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate/Kent Nelson could make a compelling case, as Hayden first appeared in the 1956 edition of an offer as an enemy d. Furthermore, in the comic book crossover event Limitless crisisHowever, the Psycho-Pirate was killed by Black Adam, creating another possible path for Medusa Mask to wreak havoc on the DCU.
9 Darkside
in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, audiences were given their first (brief) live glimpse of the mighty Darkseid. Effectively serving as DC’s version of Thanos, the ruler of Apokolips should have been depicted as nearly invincible in his theatrical debut. Instead, during a flashback sequence where the character is first introduced, he is promptly defeated by the likes of Zeus and the crew after Ares manages to knock him down with an axe. Darkseid deserves much better treatment and requires a chance at redemption in the new DC Universe. A new dungeon god should return to the big screen as the most feared villain in all of the DC mythology. If the nascent DCU’s main character is Superman, then Darkseid has to be the standout villain.
8 Brainiac
Superman’s other immortal foe, Brainiac is just as grave a threat as Darkseid. He mercilessly conquers and collects planets, possesses superhuman strength, invulnerability, and an astounding twelfth-level intellect. The DCU would stand a very productive opportunity if the Collector of Worlds collided with the Man of Steel. This Clash of the Titans would give the new universe a valuable opportunity to show the more intellectual side of Superman, as the last Kryptonian isn’t all muscle and brute and will have to use quick thinking and quick planning to outwit Brainiac. Furthermore, including Brainiac as a top-tier threat could set the stage for the temperamental team-up of Superman and Lex Luthor. A villain worthy enough to force this partnership into existence certainly deserves his place in the DCU.
7 Sinestro
Sinestro has been expertly cast as Mark Strong in Green Lantern. Unfortunately, not much in the movie is done to the same standard. This is not to say that the character’s life on screen has come to an early end. After the announcement of the DCU TV series lanternsHowever, the inclusion of the former “Greatest Green Lantern’s” seems almost certain. As one of DC’s most complex villains, it should be an absolute guarantee that Thaal will be a key component of the DCU’s Green Lantern mythology. The heart of a yellow lantern can stir things up in deep space.
6 about him
A supervillain known as “Breaking the Bat,” Bane is the only member of this list to have appeared in two live-action theatrical releases. I, 1997 Batman and RobinAnd The character did absolutely no favors, portraying the Titan junkie as a bumbling sidekick to Uma Thurmans’ Poison Ivy. 15 years later, the character is reintroduced in the dark knight rises, Where he was able to display parts of his comic book wit and cunning but never used the superhuman performance-enhancing drug, Venom. Additionally, none of the editions of Bane establish his Latino heritage. Maybe a later project using Knight’s Fall story as the basis for her script that will finally put an end to these unfinished portrayals of Bane?
5 Mongol
Mongul is the barbaric tyrant of planet Earth, the World of War. Depending on the universe and medium, Warworld is either a gladiator planet (such as Sakaar from motorcycle rental), or a giant weapon similar to the Death Star. Throw in a few main heroes, and exploring Warworld alone has enough potential to fill out any movie or TV script. However, Mongul is also the main villain in one of the greatest Superman tales, For the man who has everything. In this story line, Mongul attaches a plant known as the Black Mercy to Superman’s chest. This connection causes the Man of Steel to inadvertently enter an unbreakable vegetative state where he lives out his greatest fantasies.
The intoxicating plant eventually gets separated from Superman, but then finds its way to Batman, who believes he lives in his own perfect world. Then, it’s up to Wonder Woman, Robin, and an enraged Superman to defeat Mongul and save the day. Although the story, written and drawn by famed comedy duo Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, has been brought to the small screen three times (once in animation and twice in live-action), it’s high time Mongol (and Black Mercy) hit the silver screen.
4 Grandma goodness
Darkseid’s twisted, evil, and sadistic Granny Goodness will be a pointed occasion within the DCU, reminding creators and viewers, alike, that comic book villains can be equal parts creepy and intimidating. As the leader of the Female Furies, Granny must be introduced as the main villain in a movie or TV show revolving around Mr. Miracle or the New Gods. This would allow ample opportunity to establish her character before the time comes for her to take her place in a major crossover event as Darkseid’s first lieutenant.
3 Leopard Thawne
A truly terrifying villain with previous appearances in animated films and TV (plus live-action). Arrow), Eobard Thawne became one of the most notorious rogues in DC history. Also known as the Reverse-Flash, the despicable Thawne went so far as to kill Barry Allen’s mother, simply out of petty revenge. Thawne plays the main antagonist in the 2011 comedy crossover, flash pointwhich was shown in theaters this summer, the light, loosely based. So far, no confirmation has been received on whether Reverse-Flash will make his DCU debut in the movie. Hopefully, Thawne will appear in an important role, but if he gets anything less, it shouldn’t be a death sentence for his DCU’s future.
2 Lyra Omoto
Not yet a classic villain in the traditional sense of being an archenemy, Laira Omoto has the potential to become an icon of her own. Her backstory is as compelling as any character’s, and it even parallels Sinestro’s. She first appears as the heroic Green Lantern, forced to mortally wound her father, and later becomes one of the “Lost Lanterns” betrayed and believed killed by Hal Jordan. Burdened with vengeance and hatred towards Jordan, Omoto eventually succumbed to the wrath of the Red Lantern’s heart. as an intergalactic TV show lanterns Hal Jordan is assigned to follow Green Lantern to uncover a mystery in deep space, and the discovery of Laira and the other “Lost Lanterns” may also lead to the War of the Light and the Black Night. Laira should be included in the DCU roster and as a huge player.

Deathstroke the Terminator has always been one of DC Comics’ most complex villains. He killed his own son, however, and was sometimes responsible for saving countless innocent lives. Is he a cold killer for hire, or a just guy with a (very) loose moral code? The answer does not matter. Slade Wilson has got it all. His mask is colder than cold. He wields two swords behind his back in a much more urgent manner than that TMNT’s Leonardo. He has guns and super strength and agility. He is one of the few individuals who have ever defeated Batman. Anytime he’s on TV or a movie, he steals it. Jill Kamel watched Slade terrorize Robin and his teammates Teen Titans. Along with The Next Generation, viewers watched The Expendables brutalize a more mature team in titans. Fans keep clamoring for more Deathstroke yet Zack Snyder’s Justice League Additional appearances have never been seen before. It’s time to put Deathstroke at the center of the feature films, and it was announced recently Brave and daring Seems like the perfect starting point.
